I started this podcast in 2024 with a simple mission; Give people the opportunity to share their story, in hopes that it could help others with their journey. In order to do that, I needed to understand what those different journeys could look like. I reflected on what kind of questions I had when I first started in the fire service, and even further back, when I had interest in joining public safety. I knew what I saw on TV, but I didn’t know the fine details, and that was what I was looking for. As time went on, and I progressed further into the field, I started seeing the ugly side of the job; traumatic incidents, death, kids being hurt, etc. I didn’t know how to respond to the feelings I had. I recommend listening to episode 015: My Story, and Cody’s story episode 024 to get a better understanding of the crap I went through.

Overtime, I realized that having a show focused only on mental health, would get overwhelming, even for me. While that’s still a huge focus of mine, I also want to learn more about different careers. On the next page I have listed out a brief outline of how the show goes. I ask that if you’re still interested in allowing me to interview you, please fill out the additional document with your information, so that I can give you a proper introduction. There is zero judgement on this show, and you aren’t pressured to talk about anything you don’t want to talk about. I will tell you this though, chances are, if you went through something difficult, the lessons you learned could help someone else going through a similar situation. I’ve done several interviews with people who have gotten emotional telling their story, and that’s ok! It shows that we are human, and that we have feelings.
